Description
GoldenShot MT5 Review – My Honest Explanation
The GoldenShot MT5 by Adam Hrncir is a single-position gold EA built for controlled, long-term trading. It waits for a qualified setup, takes one trade with a real stop loss, and manages that trade instead of rescuing it. No grid. No martingale. No lot scaling.
I tested it on XAUUSD using MetaTrader 5 on a hedging account. The minimum deposit is $100 with a fixed 0.01 lot. A recommended deposit of $250 or more lets the default 1% risk per trade work properly from the smallest lot size. The Expert Advisor supports BUY and SELL on gold only. It runs on any chart timeframe because both strategies use their own internal timeframes.
What struck me most is how different this feels from the usual gold EA. Most gold robots pile on trades. GoldenShot waits. It checks. Then it fires once. The whole philosophy is built around not losing, not around winning big on every trade.

GoldenShot MT5 Live Result
The live signal for GoldenShot MT5 is available on Myfxbook under Adam Hrncir. It shows a growth of 18.67% since 2026. The account has a profit of $25.72 on an initial deposit of $100. Equity and balance are both at $300.72. There have been no withdrawals, and total deposits are $175.00.
The signal has been running for 2 weeks. Profit trades are at 93.8%, and loss trades are at 6.3%. The maximum drawdown recorded is 9.4%. Two weeks is a short window. I am flagging that clearly. It is not enough time to judge long-term performance. But it does show the EA trading live without blowing up, which is more than many gold EAs can say in their first month.

Backtest Results
The vendor provided a backtest report covering 2025 to now using real ticks on XAUUSD. The net profit is $738,555.60 on an initial deposit of $100,000. Profit factor is 20.64. Total trades are 540. The Sharpe ratio is 32.77, and the recovery factor is 20.93.
The equity drawdown max is 4.87%, and the balance drawdown max is 2.80%. Total trades win 96.30%, and the largest loss trade is -$3,474.47. The backtest period is deliberately short. The vendor says gold does not trade the way it did in 2019, so testing from 2025 onward makes more sense. I agree with that logic. A 2020 backtest on gold tells you almost nothing about today’s market.
One important note: the Strategy Tester has no economic calendar, so it trades through CPI, NFP, and FOMC as if they were normal minutes. GoldenShot’s trading windows skip those release minutes in the backtest exactly as they do live. What you test is what you get.
Key Features
• Single-Position Trading – Only one trade exists at any time. No stacking, no hedging against yourself, no second position opened behind the first.
• Real Stop Loss on Every Trade – The broker-side stop loss stays on every trade as a disaster backstop. No trade is ever left unprotected.
• No Grid, No Martingale – No averaging down, no lot scaling, no hidden recovery layers that turn one bad entry into ten.
• Two Independent Strategies – Strategy 1 (Pullback) and Strategy 2 (Momentum) are tested separately and trade different market conditions.
• Pre-Entry Validation – Every signal is checked against measured failure structures from real trading history. If it matches a failure pattern, no order is sent.
• Post-Entry Rapid-Failure Protection – The pullback strategy watches for a rapid failure after entry and asks the broker for a tighter stop instead of taking the full loss.
• Advanced News Protection – New entries pause around CPI, FOMC, and NFP, plus USD bank holidays. Two news sources are built in.
• Automatic Broker Geometry – Supports three-digit gold brokers and calibrates distances to your broker’s quote precision automatically.
• Flexible Position Sizing – Choose a fixed lot or a percentage of your account per trade. Percentage is calculated from the real stop distance.
• Time Management – Multiple Monday to Thursday trading windows, a separate Friday schedule, and a Christmas holiday pause with automatic DST adjustment.
Pros / Cons
GoldenShot EA Pros:
• No grid, no martingale, no lot scaling. The strategy is clean and transparent.
• Real broker-side stop loss on every single trade.
• News filter skips high-impact events automatically.
• Two strategies cover both pullback and momentum conditions.
• Detailed dashboard shows per-strategy performance, drawdown, and open trade status.
• Works on any chart timeframe.
• Direct developer support from Adam Hrncir.
GoldenShot MT5 EA Cons:
• Only trades XAUUSD. No forex pairs or indices.
• Live signal has only 2 weeks of history. Not enough to judge long-term.
• Minimum $100 deposit needed for 0.01 lot, but $250+ is recommended for proper risk sizing.
• Cent accounts are not recommended.
• Backtest only covers 2025 onward. Some traders prefer longer histories.
Who Can Use This
GoldenShot MT5 suits traders who want a single-position gold EA with a real stop loss and no recovery tricks. It is built for controlled, long-term trading rather than fast account flipping. If you trade XAUUSD on MT5 and want an EA that waits for qualified setups instead of firing constantly, this fits. It works best on a hedging account with RAW or ECN spreads from a broker like Vantage, IC Markets, or Exness.
You need at least $250 to let the 1% risk rule work properly. A VPS is strongly recommended because trailing stops, breakeven moves, and protective stop tightening all need a connected terminal. This is not for you if you want a multi-pair EA, if you trade cent accounts, or if you expect a 10-year backtest to prove everything.
• Traders who trade gold only and want a clean, single-position approach.
• Traders who value real stop losses over hidden recovery strategies.
• Traders with $250+ who want proper 1% risk sizing from day one.
• Traders who run MT5 on a VPS and want a set-and-forget gold EA.
• Traders who prefer a shorter, honest backtest over a long, flattering one.
How to Install GoldenShot MT5
1. In MT5, open Tools > Options > Expert Advisors, tick Allow algorithmic trading, and add https://nfs.faireconomy.media/ to the WebRequest list. Restart MT5 once.
2. Drag GoldenShot onto your broker’s Gold chart. Any timeframe is fine because the strategies use their own internal timeframes.
3. Leave Risk Per Trade at 1%, or switch to a fixed lot. That is the only decision you need to make on day one.
4. Check the Experts log. It prints the detected price unit, both strategies, the position-size mode, and the protection state.
5. Look at the dashboard header. [RUNNING] in green means new entries are possible right now. Any other text tells you what is holding them back.

Risk Disclaimer
Trading foreign exchange and CFDs on margin carries a high level of risk and may not be suitable for all investors. Leverage can work against you as well as for you. Before deciding to trade, you should carefully consider your investment objectives, level of experience, and risk appetite. You could sustain a loss of some or all of your initial investment. Do not invest money you cannot afford to lose. Past performance is not indicative of future results. Backtest results are historical simulations and do not guarantee future performance.
Final Verdict
GoldenShot MT5 is one of the more honest gold EAs I have reviewed. It does not promise the world. It does not hide behind a long backtest from 2018. It trades one position at a time with a real stop loss and tells you exactly what it will and will not do.
The live signal is short at 2 weeks, so I cannot call it proven. But the philosophy is sound: wait, qualify, strike once, protect the result. That is how gold should be traded. The current launch price is $149, with the price increasing by $50 for every 10 licenses sold. The final price is $399. If you want a controlled, single-position gold EA with no grid and no martingale, GoldenShot MT5 is worth buying at the early price. Just be realistic. Gold is volatile. No EA removes that risk. GoldenShot manages it better than most, but it cannot eliminate it.
